Here on Virtual Earner, I have it set up so that older articles automatically reappear at the top of the site from time to time. Often times, older articles in the archives of the site go unnoticed by new readers, because most new readers don’t go back and read the old articles. So, I figure that by re-publishing those older articles, it helps readers benefit from those older articles that they may have missed.
Sometimes, though, when an article gets re-published, it makes me realize that the information in the older article is no longer accurate or relevant. That happened yesterday. Yesterday, an older article was automatically re-published. The title of the article was “$1 per day: aLinks.”
A few years ago, I published a series of articles under the title “$1 per day.” The premise of the article was that there were ways that you could make an extra $1 per day by doing certain simple things. If each and every day you were able to successfully increase your earnings by $1 per day, after a year you would be earning an extra $365 per day, every day. That’s a nice piece of change, don’t you think?
Well, I still believe that the theory of making small additions to your earnings is a great thing to do. I believe firmly that creating multiple streams of income, no matter how small, can lead to a huge river of earnings that will keep your bank account full. We should all strive to make small amounts of money to add to our river.
In yesterday’s article about “aLinks” plugin, it talked about a plugin for WordPress blogging software that would allow you to set up automatic links in your site. For example, every time a certain word was included in any blog post on your site, it would link back to wherever you told it to link to. For example, maybe you write about self-improvement. You could set it up so that every time you mentioned the title of a self-improvement book, the title automatically linked to Amazon’s sales page for that book, through your affiliate link, thus earning you money whenever any of your readers bought the book. Nice thing is, you can set it up where the link is automatically inserted, you don’t have to worry about it except once when you set it up.
Only one problem. That aLinks plugin is no longer viable for newer versions of WordPress that we are using today (or should be!). It happens that a few months ago, I started up 4 new blog sites. I wanted and needed an “automatic linking” plugin like aLinks to make these sites do what I wanted them to do with a minimum amount of labor. I thought for sure that this was a job for aLinks, so I looked into the plugin. I found out that aLinks were no longer viable! I was quite disappointed. I did some research, though, and I found a new plugin that fit the job perfectly – SEO Smart Links.
SEO Smart Links does exactly what the old aLinks did, and a few other things too. You might feel a bit put off, though, when you first check out SEO Smart Links. You see, the information you will find on the Internet will lead you to believe that SEO Smart Links is a premium plugin that you must pay to use. Fact is, there is a free version and a premium paid version too. For me, I tried out the free version of the plugin and it works fine for me! I have no need for any additional features, and thus the free version fits my needs to a tee.
So, if you felt like the old aLinks plugin was something that did some things that you needed in your blog, check out SEO Smart Links, I think you’ll be happy that you did!

Bob, I’ve long been wanting to make money online as I’ve been prowling the net (more than a decade) but really has not done anything to earn just extra dollar. just doing typical youngin stuff. back then. ICQ and all that crap. It’s nice to earn that extra$1. Thought of Multiply shop but too many factors to have for that. Anyway, most times, there’s too many limits if one is using free site.. say wp.com (w/c is what I use) can’t really put ads there or certain plug ins. Is there a way to make money online w/o spending money? Sorry if question sounds ignoramus. Maybe I should buy your ebooks.. but no bucks for that yet. hehe.. so articles like really much appreciated. Thanks, Bob

Hi sugar – Generally, I encourage you to have your own website on a domain that you own if you are looking to make money online. Sure, it can be done in places like Multiple or WordPress.com and such, but you can do it much better when you actually own the content. But, it’s cheap to get going. Figure $10 to buy the domain and you can find hosting for less than $5/month. If you get serious about it, in less than a year you will be making a profit even after paying your costs.
