It’s just part of life – if you rest too long, others will pass you by. It’s always important to keep moving forward!
This is as true in the world of e-Commerce as it is in any other part of life. Over the years, I have opened and operated many different e-Commerce sites. I am always trying to open new sites with new product lines. Sometimes those new sites don’t pan out, with poor sales, but most of the time I am able to do well with them. What I do know, from experience is that you can’t sit still. If you do nothing, you are generally moving backward!
Last year, I put this theory to the test. I decided to spend the year concentrating my efforts on monetizing blogs, instead of paying close attention to my e-Commerce sites. The results were not good! While my efforts in my blogs were profitable, and generally that opened a new income stream for me, some of my e-Commerce sites slipped a bit in sales! So, that has re-enforced to me that I need to keep some close watch on the e-Commerce side of my business too. Yes, I need to concentrate on my blog efforts as well, but not completely ignore the e-Commerce either!
So, this year, one of my focuses will be on re-capturing the market share on those e-Commerce sites. I can’t afford to let them go, and I learned my lesson this last year! The businesses didn’t totally lose out, they just lost some share on sales. But, they are still strong enough that I can make a few changes and bring them back to where they once were!
How about you, have you found this in your money making attempts on the net?

Couldn’t be a better subject to write on, Bob. Unless it would be the root of the thought … get moving in the first place. The absolute number one reason, bar none, that people fail to make money on line is that they do nothing … paralysis by analysis.
There’s a joke with a punchline ‘Just do something, even if it’s wrong’. In making money online there really is nothing ‘wrong’ that you can do … not like dropping an atom bomb or getting into a bad marrige kind of ‘wrong’.
If you start a venture asnd it doesn’t pay as well as you wanted, so what? You invested nearly nothing and you got some post-secondary credits in your education. Drop it an start something new.
But if you sit here for another year doing nothing … pondering … I can offer an iron-clad guarantee that you have assured your own failure.
Jump in, the water’s fine.

Hi Dave – Everything you said is very true! Nothing you do can be fatal in this field, so do something! You can always make a change or fine tune the idea!
