The Indiana Martins are growing
Jared will be moving to Logansport
For the last year, our son, Jared, has been doing a combination of working/living in Alaska, and during his off months there he has been living in Atlanta, Georgia.
In March he quit his job in Alaska and moved full time to Atlanta, where he has been living with his brother, Aaron.
New job in Atlanta
In May, Jared started working in a warehouse in the Atlanta area. I don’t know the name of the company he has been working for, but I know they sell tech items like computers and video gaming systems and supplies.
He seems to have done well in his warehouse job in the few months that he has been working for them.
However…
The cost of living in Atlanta is high
Jared has discovered that the cost of living in the Atlanta area is quite high, at least in comparison to living here in Indiana.
Also, there is much higher-paying employment readily available here in Logansport.
So a combination of a lower cost of living, and a higher paying job has lead Jared to a decision.
He will be moving to Logansport
Jared will be arriving here in Logansport next week. Probably the next day or so he will be applying for work at Tyson. I would say that getting a job at Tyson is pretty much guaranteed for Jared. Feyma has already talked to the General Foreman in her area, and he is looking forward to getting Jared on his team.
Where will Jared be living?
When he comes to Logansport, where will Jared be living? Well, he will move in with us.
Jared is just 19 years old, and he has kind of been “out on his own” for about 2 years now. So, Feyma and I are looking forward to him moving in and the opportunity of connecting with him again. Of course, we have stayed in touch with him by phone and other methods, but face-to-face interaction will be nice.
How long will Jared live with us?
Really, Jared is welcome to stay with us for as long as he wants or needs to. Whether that be a few months or a few years it is not a problem unless he makes it a problem. LoL
That will leave Aaron alone in Atlanta
Yeah, all of our family will be here in Logansport, except for Aaron.
I talked to Aaron last night and I asked him when he will be coming to Logansport to live here. His answer?
When Hell freezes over.
Well, you should never say never (I learned that after saying I would never move back to the USA), but Aaron is a big-city guy, and Logansport is certainly not a big city.
I don’t really think we will see Aaron moving here to Indiana, but as I said, you should never say never.
I am sure that we will be seeing Aaron from time to time, though.
We are looking forward to Jared’s arrival next week. I will be picking him up at the airport in Indianapolis. It will be a nice reunion, I am sure!

Well you can’t win them all LOL!! That is the parenthood’s life. You change their diapers, you educate them, and just when you think you have everything under control, you find out that they have a mind of their own. As long as they respect you, love you and stay in touch, you have succeeded , Congratulations to Feyma and you.

Hi Michel. Thank you for your comment. Just to be clear, Jared did not do anything to disappoint us. We are happy that he is coming to live here.

I’m glad he is coming to Indiana. I’m sure he will like it, especially when he starts working.
Bob Martin
Thank you, Jack. Yes, Jared will be happy to have a good job, that is for certain!

Tony Keller
A friend of mine whose son was graduating from high school the next day told me, “Tonight is my last day of being a parent. Tomorrow I get to be a life coach. In four to six years I get to become his friend.” My response was, “Good luck on the parenting part.”
My kids have grand children and have been quite successful. I have been a life coach and their friend, but they still make me realize I need to be a parent at times. It’s all good though, as I enjoy it all. It’s all part of life.
Have you seen Reekay’s vlogs?

Hi Tony – We have no problem with Jared moving back! We are excited. He moved out on his own, more or less, at 17, so it’s fine with us. He will have a good job here, and I think he will do very well!

Hey at least you all can spend holidays together now! Glad to hear the family isn’t so separated as before Bob!

Hi Phil – Jared arrived here on Wednesday this week. It is nice having him around. Now, if we could just get Aaron to make the move!
