OK, guys, I am on a role with my posts about my 2014 Business Resolutions! So far this week, I have told you about two of my Business Resolutions for this year:
Today, it’s time to tell you about my 3rd Business Resolution for 2014.
Autoresponders
What is an “autoresponder”? Well, basically it is a system where e-mails are automatically sent out to people to answer their questions, or to market to them. Mostly, in this resolution, I am thinking along the lines of using Autoresponders for marketing purposes.
One thing, though, that I plan to keep in mind is that I don’t want to be spammy. I don’t want people to get e-mails and think that it is nothing but spam. This is an important decision when moving in this marketing direction, because many people who do this are, in my opinion, spamming.
Marketing through Autoresponders
Basically, the idea is that if somebody buys a book from me, let’s say they buy my book 49 Ways to Make a Living, for example, maybe I have other books that they might be interested in. For instance, somebody who buys that book probably would also have an interest in my other book, 99 Ways to Make a Living on the Internet. So, it is possible to set up a system where anybody who buys the first book would get a follow-up e-mail in, say, 2 weeks offering them a very special deal on the 2nd book.
Learning time
I have never done any kind of marketing using Autoresponders, so it is time for me to put on my thinking cap and do some learning in this area. I’m not afraid of trying new things, though, so this will be a challenge for me.
I feel pretty sure, though, that through using Autoresponders, I can increase the success of my marketing, and sell more products. I hope I am right, and we will see how it works! 2014 is going to be an exciting year for me, trying new things like this (and others), and I’m excited to get it all in place!
Tom N
I will be curious to see how this goes for you. I agree with you that much of this can be spammy, but I am sure that you can make this work and be of real value.
Robert Martin
I’ll keep you posted, Tom. It is something that will probably get going more toward the middle of 2014.
