I hear this kind of thing from a broad spectrum of people on a regular basis. They just feel that Facebook and other Social Networking sites are not a place for a serious Internet Entrepreneur. Facebook is for kids. Facebook is for playing Farmville. Facebook is not serious. I hate Facebook. Well, those are the kinds of things I hear on a pretty much daily basis from people I talk to.
You know what? I disagree. In my experience, Facebook has made me a lot of money. I use Facebook daily. I have about 2,100 friends on Facebook (if you want to be my friend, just click here and friend me!) and if I have some message that I want to get out to a lot of people quickly, I find no way better to get that done than by posting it on Facebook! When I post something on Facebook, it gets action. Usually, if I post a link on Facebook, people are visiting the site within less than a minute! That’s quick action, and it happens all the time!
But can you make any money using Facebook? After all, this site is about how to make money on the Internet, right? Well, my friends, you better believe that you can make money using Facebook. In fact, about a year or more ago, I decided to integrate my most popular site with Facebook and see what would happen. My first step was that I made a “fan page” for the site. Next, I invited all of my friends to “like” my fan page.
But, how can you integrate Facebook with the site? Well, if you are a WordPress user like I am, then there are a number of plugins that you can use to integrate your blog with Facebook. My favorite WordPress plugin for this purpose is called WordBooker. WordBooker will allow you to post links on Facebook for blog posts. It will take comments from Facebook and import them to the blog post. It will take comments from your blog and export them to Facebook. Frankly, it will do a lot of other things too.
As I said, over a year ago, I did this Facebook/Blog integration for my first site. You know what? Within 6 months, Facebook was my number two source of money earning on the site! In other words, of the people who were spending money on the site, a large percentage of them came to the site from Facebook! In fact, the number of visitors on the site more than doubled in six months, and half were coming from Facebook. What do you think, is that success or what? And, this entire process took about 30 minutes worth of work, and I didn’t ever have to touch it after that. So, is Facebook just a play site for kids? What do you think?
There are a lot of Social Networking sites out there. I tend to use Facebook the most, and to be honest, as of now it is the only one that I have made an effort to integrate with my blogs. I need to look into what I can do for other sites too, and I will. But, Facebook is the kind of social sites at this time.
Want to increase your reach online? Want to attract more readers? Want to make more money? Integrating Facebook with your site is a good first step! Let me know how it works for you!

What an interesting idea to integrate a website with Facebook in that manner! Hmm…gets me thinking!

Hi Tom – Facebook has been a major source of traffic for me, bringing me up to 50% of my visitors over the past year. That said… in the past couple of weeks, I have learned that Facebook is even more important than I thought it was in terms of bringing a new website up to speed in a hurry!

Yes Bob. I remember what you said in one of your website. “For every click, I make money”
More clicking here at FB and mulah will keep coming.

Hi Robert – There are lots of ways to make money on the net… but you can’t make any if nobody visits your sites! 😆
Ray
So will you talk about how to get people to visit your sites in a future post?
Bob Martin
I was kind of thinking I had done that in this post… but I think you’re right, I can go further down that path. Thanks for the tip.
