Refresh. What does that mean? Well, it means that we are renewing something. Reinvigorating. Starting over.
Nearly anything in life gets better if we refresh it. In terms of the Internet, if we are looking at a webpage and we “refresh” our browser, we are reloading the page, making it fresh, which may show us updated information. Do you want to be updated as much as possible, right?
I am doing some things to refresh my business situation. Online business to be more precise.
Why do I need to refresh?
Well, for me, I need to refresh because my earnings are down. In fact, my earnings are down significantly compared to, say, 5 years ago. It is at the point where I want/need to pick up my game and hunker down a bit!
Why is my income down?
Well, the biggest reason that my earnings are down is that a couple of years ago, Google did some algorithm changes that resulted in my income being hit. My sites are still very well ranked, and that is great and keeps me earning money, but the algorithm change hurt me because, in the past, I was able to make a good deal of money selling links on my site. Now, such links are of little value to other sites compared to the past. At one point, I was making several thousand dollars per month from one of my sites just by having some links to other sites, and this income went on for years. When the algorithm change was made, within a couple of months all of that income disappeared.
Another income source which has been drastically reduced is Google AdSense. Google has really cut down on how much most publishers are able to earn through AdSense. In fact, I am now only earning about 10% of what I was once earning through that program, a real hit!
Really, the biggest part of my income decrease over the years has been due to policy changes at Google.
Tired of living with the hit.
So, after a few years of earning less money than I am used to earning… I have finally decided to do something about it! I am tired of taking the cut. Actually, over the years I have made some changes that have helped me gain a bit more income, but only marginal changes. I want to make some big changes now, and I have been focusing my time on that over the past few months. I am seeing results from those changes.
One change that I want to make is to start getting more active on this website. I feel and have been told by friends, that as I refresh my business practices and achieve results through those changes, that sharing my ways of increasing my earnings here will be some popular content for readers of this site. So, I hope you will start watching this site closely, because it is my intention to start posting regular content here, to update you on what I am doing, and what kinds of results I am seeing from those projects.
Over the past few months that I have been focusing on this, I have gotten into some new areas that I find very exciting, and also I have been going back to revisit some business strategies that I used with great success in the past, to see if I can rekindle the success that I experienced before.
How about you?
Have you been earning good money on the Internet? Is your income down now compared to the past? If so, read what I share here, and also I would encourage you to share what you are doing, or are considering, to reverse the trend.
Alternatively, are you a person who has never really been an Internet Earner, but it is something that you have an interest in trying? Well, even if my income has been down, I still make good money on the net. I mean, I am still alive and enjoying a good standard of living, so I have to be making money in some way! I really only earn via the Internet, so the income is still happening, but I want to bring it back to the great success that I enjoyed in the past. How about giving it a try and joining me? Comment and let me know what you are doing and how you are doing with your projects!
Over the rest of this week, I will be looking at some of the new, and old things that I am embarking on in my journey to bolster my Internet earnings! Hope you will be back to read, and to share!

It is frustrating when what was, isn’t anymore. It’s also frustrating having perfect hindsight and knowing that you (or I in this case) could have done so much more in the Internet space a few years ago when I made the choice to pursue Real Estate right before the housing market crash…which crashed me along with it. So, my Real Estate first and Internet second was … backwards. If I had done Internet first, I might have gotten bitten by the Dot Com bubble issues of 2000…. Hmmm. I guess I shall have to choose to start where I am now and build something amazing.
And the coolest thing is, I (and everyone else) CAN!
There is so much opportunity available for us to develop.
Hoping your adventures are fruitful … and I am eager to see amazing things in future.

One thing is for sure, Byron.., hindsight is always 20/20

I have shared with you my same issues in this regard. At a certain point, you need to focus in a different direction. You are always so wise about such things. 🙂

Hi Tom – Not sure just how wise I was on this… I waited way too long to do it!
Thanks for your comment.
