What am I up to these days?

I Haven’t been writing for some time

So, I have to admit that I’ve been more than a little bit lax when it comes to writing on the web. When I still lived in the Philippines, I wrote at least one article every day, including weekends and holidays. I am going to strive really hard to get back to a similar schedule. I enjoy writing, and have been missing that being part of my daily routine. Fingers crossed!

Selling on eBay and Writing

If you read me regularly (when I write an article LoL), you know that since moving back to the USA, I have started selling on eBay, as well as other platforms on the Internet. I originally started out selling on eBay back in 1996 when the site first got started. I even sold on eBay when I moved to the Philippines, in fact at the beginning of my life in the Philippines eBay was my primary source of income. 

Around 2005 or so, though, I stopped selling on eBay. I had other things that I went into to maintain a nice lifestyle in the Philippines. Primarily I started writing. I wrote:

• Blogs
• Books
• Product Reviews

While in the Philippines, starting in 2005, I wrote until 2019, and over time I garnered a lot of readers on my various websites.

Changes when I left the Philippines

In 2019 when I returned to the States, I decided to get back into selling on eBay. I missed that and wanted to get back to doing it.

Selling on eBay was tough during the pandemic, primarily sourcing merchandise to sell was difficult. But, I was always able to find good items at very cheap prices, products that I could easily sell at a profit. That’s what it’s all about, right?

Recently I made a decision. As I said, I missed writing and interacting more with friends, “fans”, readers, basically people who enjoyed my writing, enjoyed interaction, and loyally came to read what I wrote most every day.

So, I’m going back to writing.

What about eBay?

I will continue to do eBay, to an extent. I will no longer be going out searching for deals on things that I can make money on. Instead, as of a few weeks ago, I am simply selling the things that I already have purchased for reselling. Now, don’t take me wrong, I may still buy a few things to resell, primarily if I am out somewhere and come across a great deal, and particularly if I can purchase in quantity, I will buy the item(s) to resell on eBay or other platforms.

I don’t want to have thousands of items, and I don’t want to mess with single quantities of items, I want things that I can buy in bulk and make at least triple or more when I sell it.

So what will I be doing?

As I said, I’ll be writing. I will be writing, in particular, on three different websites:

1. This blog, Bob in the USA
2. My old website, Live in the Philippines Web Magazine
3. A new site which I will tell you about in the next few days

Why am I splitting my writing on 3 different sites? Simple.. I like to keep to “the topic at hand” on each site. Like, I don’t want to write about living in the Philippines on this site, which is about my life in the USA. Each blog will have its own topic. I think it’s better that way.
